Program description

HandoWorks sends text messages on behalf of local service businesses (handymen, contractors, and trades) that use the HandoWorks platform to manage their customer communication. Messages are sent from a shared HandoWorks phone number and always identify the business they are sent for.

Message types

Service (transactional) messages — sent as part of doing business with a service provider:

• Appointment confirmations, reminders, and schedule changes
• "On my way" arrival alerts
• Estimates, invoices, receipts, and payment links
• Replies in a conversation you started with the business
• One-time sign-in codes for the customer portal

Promotional (marketing) messages — offers and promotions from a business you work with. These are only sent with your prior express written consent, collected either through a signed/checked consent form or by you confirming with a YES reply to an opt-in text.

How consent is collected

• Providing your phone number to a business for service communication (service messages)
• Managing your preferences in the HandoWorks customer portal
• Confirming a marketing opt-in request by replying YES (promotional messages)

Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Message frequency, rates

Message frequency varies by your service activity. Msg & data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving all texts from the HandoWorks number (this stops messages from every business texting you through HandoWorks). Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP or contact support@handoworks.com for assistance. You can also manage per-business preferences in the customer portal.

Quiet hours

Automated service messages are only delivered between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in your local time zone; promotional messages between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
